Fulfillment in Christ

trees and green grass under white clouds and blue sky during daytime

Throughout every generation, there is a remnant of people who find their fulfillment in Christ alone (Colossians 3:3-4). He is our dwelling place through good times and bad, because He is our great, everlasting King (Psalm 90:1-2).

Our final act on this earth is to return to the dust from which we came. Even though we are swept away from this life, God makes us like the new grass of the morning. A thousand years in His presence is like one single day, a mere blink of the eye (Psalm 90:3-5).

We groan through the suffering and degradation we experience in this life, living for as long as our strength may last. Yet, no matter how trying life becomes for us all, He ultimately cares and saves us through every trial (Psalm 90:7-10).

When we come to Jesus for forgiveness of our sins, His presence supports us. He covers us with His feathers, and we are safe inside of the shield and fortification, which He supplies for us. People may faint away all around us, but He sustains us by His love (Psalm 91:3-7).

As we experience each day as it comes, we gain a heart full of His wisdom. We give Him the honor due to His name. His unfailing love sustains us through each moment of the day, and we break into songs of joy and praise to His name (Psalm 90:11-14).
Those who do not trust their life to the Lord lack sense and understanding. They may flourish in their few years on this earth; however, they will be destroyed forever in the everlasting flames of hell. Only those humble enough to repent and believe will flourish both now and throughout eternity (John 3:18; Psalm 92:12-15).

Prayer:
Father God, Your favor rests on Your children through every trial and circumstance as You establish the work of our hands. We may see trouble for many years, but Your blessings sustain us (Psalm 90:15-16). When we dwell in Your shelter, we find rest under the shadow of Your wings, because You are our refuge and fortress in whom we trust (Psalm 91:1-2).

Our enemies will all perish, but You will exalt us as co-heirs with Jesus, and we all serve You in Your eternal Kingdom (Psalm 92:8; Romans 8:17; John 12:26). It is so good to praise You, Lord, and to make music dedicated to the power of Your name and the goodness of Your loving kindness. You are our pure joy, and we rejoice over all the great works of Your hands and the wisdom of Your thoughts (Psalm 92:1-5).

Thought for the Day:
We may encounter life-threatening situations, but when we love the Lord and trust Him with every moment of our life, He is with us through every one of them, and He ultimately rescues and protects us - even if we walk with Him through death's door into His heavenly sanctuary.
- Psalm 91:13-16
