Our Singular Purpose

Our soul - our feelings, thoughts and choices - start to form at conception. What we experience from the womb until the day that we depart from this world influences our goals and decisions for the rest of our life.

Some of these impressions are false, fueled by lies and misconceptions spoken by the devil's subtle whispers to our soul, as well as by our own well-meaning caretakers. God's truth is the only power that will break the bondage that these falsehoods put us under.

We access God's truth through His Word, His Spirit and through prayer. Daily, we calm our soul, and speak words of affirmation and encouragement to our self, reading them right out of the pages of our Bible.

We mature in our faith like a weaned child who no longer needs to be babied or to receive any comfort other than from the Lord (Psalm 131:2). We find our identity in Christ alone, and we rejoice in the God of our salvation (Habakkuk 3:18).

Our search for significance begins and ends in our relationship to King Jesus: adopted children of God, co-heirs with Jesus, victors rather than victims, the Body and Bride of Christ, and servants of the Most High God are just a few titles that we possess.

When Jesus faced the cross, He took His closest friends to the garden to pray. He revealed to them His need for their prayer support, because His soul was so deeply grieved about His future that it was strangling the very life from Him (Matthew 26:38; Luke 22:44). We can share with our prayer partners as well.

Secular philosophies and earthly distractions attempt to side-track us from our fulfillment in Christ; however, the totally surrendered soul grows into an intimate union with Him that lasts a lifetime and throughout eternity.

Prayer:
Father God, people all over this globe search for significance in this lifetime. We fail to make choices that truly satisfy our soul, however. Those who truly desire to find the ultimate Truth realize that their only salvation is found in Jesus Christ. At this moment of revelation, we enter into a union with Christ that is spiritual, intimate and divine.

Thank You that we are born again by Your Spirit, and that Jesus justifies us through salvation as Your Holy Spirit takes up residence in our spirit. He brings resurrection life to our soul – our mind, will and emotions; and He walks with us through the life-long journey of sanctifying our soul.

Thought for the Day:
People from all over the world search for significance from sources that do not satisfy the longing in their soul, such as: reading volumes of tomes in dusty libraries, seeking for truth; traveling the world, looking for their soul mate; side-tracked by pursuits of fame, fortune and success; attracted by secular philosophies and worldly religions; however, through a simple prayer of repentance and dependence, we reach out to God, and His Trinity moves into our heart at that very moment and breathes new life into our dead spirit.
